Mt. FUJI 100’s Yet Another Challenge, KAI70k, Kicks Off

Following the midnight start of the FUJI100mi the previous night, KAI70k, another race in the Mt. FUJI 100, commenced at midnight on Friday, April 26. The KAI70k covers the latter half of the FUJI100mi course, spanning a distance of 69.4 km with a cumulative elevation gain of 3,493 m. The race starts from Fujisan-no-Meisui Stadium in the Fuji Hokuroku Park (Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi). Along with the 166.6 km FUJI100mi, the KAI70k is an internationally recognized race in the middle-distance category.

The event has attracted a total of 1,021 participants, with 257 female runners and 764 male runners representing 34 countries and regions from around the world.

The first finishers are expected to reach the finish gate inside the Fujisan-no-Meisui Stadium around 7:30 AM on Saturday, April 27 (JST).
