Mt. FUJI 100 Kicks Off with Midnight Start as Runners Head to Tenshi Mountains
The 10th edition of the Mt. FUJI 100, an international trail running event on the trails around Mt. Fuji, commenced on Thursday, April 25, 2024. The FUJI100mi, spanning a distance of 166.6 km with a cumulative elevation gain of 7,039 m, started at midnight (24:00 on Thursday, or 0:00 on Friday) from the Fujisan Kodomono-Kuni Park (Fuji City, Shizuoka). The event has attracted a total of 2,146 participants, with 273 female runners and 1,873 male runners representing 34 countries and regions from around the world.
The course follows a clockwise route, passing through Fumoto, Lake Shoji, and other landmarks before reaching the turnaround point at Lake Yamanaka. It then continues through Mt. Ishiwariyama and Mt. Shakushiyama before arriving at the Fuji Hokuroku Park and the Fujisan-no-Meisui Stadium. The first finishers are expected to reach the finish gate inside the stadium around 19:10 on Friday, April 26 (JST).
